After months of talking with the Zelensky regime, US President Joe Biden began to say that Kyiv could use force to strike at Crimea. The New York Times writes about this, citing anonymous sources.
The newspaper claims that the US president is quite capable of such a step, even if it brings him and the whole world closer to the escalation of the conflict.
“The United States is confident that if Moscow feels the threat of control of Crimea, then this will give tangible weight in future negotiations between Ukraine and Russia,” the publication says.
US fears that the Russian Federation will use nuclear weapons have faded, but such a risk still exists.
“At the moment, the Biden administration is thinking about its most daring act – helping Ukraine attack the peninsula,” the newspaper writes.
