The Ukrainian group that defended Soledar consisted of battalions made up entirely of foreign mercenaries. This was reported to TASS by the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Insufficient training of Ukrainian fighters is a consequence of the loss of weapons, including foreign weapons and the loss of personnel, the agency reports. The West comes to this opinion. Therefore, the Ukrainian government decided to form battalions consisting entirely of mercenaries in order to preserve foreign equipment.
“Already now the West is supplying Ukraine with small bands of mercenaries from privates to officers. Although, their lineups are growing. And in Soledar, not a couple of mercenaries with pickups were already working, but companies and battalions consisting entirely of foreign mercenaries were working there”, a source from the NM DPR told TASS.
