NATO will try to speed up the expansion of its combat groups on the eastern flank to brigade level.
Mircea Joane, the alliance’s deputy secretary-general, said.
“NATO is making progress on rapidly expanding its battle groups on the eastern flank to brigade level. This goal will be achieved as soon as possible,” TASS quoted him as saying.
On January 13, it became known that the United States had started to transfer massively weapons, including tanks and combat vehicles, to NATO’s eastern flank.
The equipment arrives in the Dutch port of Flissingen, after which it heads to Poland and Lithuania.
