Ukraine says Latvian Defence Minister Murniece arrives in Kiev
The speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk announced the arrival of the head of the Latvian Defense Ministry Inara Murnietse to Kiev, the parties discussed the necessary types of weapons for the Armed Forces.
“Thanked Latvia for providing Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and military ammunition, as Latvia is among the world leaders in terms of providing us with military assistance as a ratio of GDP,” Stefanchuk was quoted by the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Telegram channel as saying.
According to the MP, he has secured support for Ukraine’s defence capability.
British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace earlier urged the German authorities to approve the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
It was also reported that Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was on his way to Germany, where he would try to convince local politicians to transfer tanks to Kiev.
