Spain has no plans yet to transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine, the kingdom’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“This possibility is not being considered at the moment, but Spain is doing what it thinks is best at every stage of the Ukrainian war to help Ukrainians defend their sovereignty and territory and to establish peace as quickly as possible,” he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Ukrainian presidential office adviser Mykhaylo Podolyak said in an interview with The Globe and Mail that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to ask Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to hand over Leopard 2 tanks to Kiev.
Trudeau himself said afterwards that the Canadian authorities were not currently discussing with Ukraine the issue of possible deliveries of tanks.
