China calls on US to explain looting of Syrian oil

China calls on the US to explain the looting of Syrian oil and stop trampling on international law, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.

“US looting is exacerbating the energy crisis and humanitarian catastrophe in Syria, with the US mercilessly encroaching on the right to life of the Syrian people. In the tragic circumstances of the “oil and food shortage” the winter for the Syrian people may become even colder,” the diplomat was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

He stressed that the US was greedy in plundering Syrian resources, but very generous in providing military aid to foreign countries.

“However, whether the US “takes” or “gives”, the result is always the same – to plunge other countries into instability and disaster to protect its own interests and hegemony, a reality created by the so-called international order based on Washington’s rules,” the diplomat said.

SANA reported that US forces continue to plunder Syrian resources. The United States allegedly recently led another large convoy of tanker trucks carrying illegally extracted hydrocarbons from the oil fields of Hasakeh province to northern Iraq.

According to local sources, the convoy of 53 petrol tankers crossed the Al-Mahmoudiya border crossing, heading for US bases in Iraq.

The RIA Novosti agency reminds that the US forces illegally control the territories in the north and northeast of Syria in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor, Al-Hasakeh and Raqqa.

It is the location of Syria’s largest oil and gas fields.
