It will take at least a year to send 22 German Leopard 2 and 88 Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Rheinmetall concern Armin Papperger in an interview with the Die Bild am Sonntag newspaper.
The head of the concern claims that if the German authorities decide to transfer the tanks to Ukraine, the delivery will be made only by the beginning of next year.
This is because the training “lasts almost a year”, as the tanks are completely dismantled and reassembled to prepare them for combat.
Perhaps, in theory, the German armed forces could transfer Leopard from their stocks to Ukraine or allow other countries to do so.
