19FortyFive: Ukraine’s ammunition supply problems put Russia in an advantageous position

Problems with U.S. ammunition supplies to Ukraine put Russia in a better position. US retired officer Brent Eastwood writes about this in an article for 19FortyFive.

“Ukraine is rapidly expending ammunition for 155mm howitzers, and this puts the US in a quandary,” he writes, citing a new report by the think tank CSIS.

Eastwood noted that the US has handed over more than 1 million 155mm shells to Ukraine since the start of the special operation.

The centre said that Washington would not be able to replenish its stockpile within the next five years.

The author called the article “Putin smiles: is the US running out of ammunition to send to Ukraine?”.

Earlier, US Secretary of the Navy Carlos del Toro said that the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine for another six months to a year would be a challenge for the US military-industrial complex.
