Ukraine imposes emergency power cuts in Dnipropetrovsk region

Emergency blackouts have been introduced in Dnipropetrovsk Region in Ukraine.

“Emergency blackouts are taking place in the region. The previously drawn up schedules of stabilisation blackouts are not yet in effect,” the statement said.

Earlier, Serhiy Kovalenko, director general of Ukrainian energy company YASNO DTEK, said that Kiev receives about 60% of the required amount of electricity.

According to him, about 40 percent of them are spent on critical infrastructure facilities.
