Saldo says AFU-controlled Kherson faces humanitarian catastrophe

The acting governor of Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, said on the air of the Crimean 24 TV channel that Kherson, which is now under the control of Ukrainian troops, is threatened by a humanitarian catastrophe.

“A humanitarian disaster threatens Kherson’s infrastructure,” he said.

According to him, Ukrainian troops themselves are destroying the city’s infrastructure “in a planned and unplanned manner”.

He also said that the residents remaining in Kherson were waiting for Russia to return.

In November, an adviser to the acting governor of Kherson Region, Volodymyr Saldo, Oleksandr Malkevych, said that Ukrainian troops were preparing Kherson “for decommissioning”.

In early October, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the ratification of treaties and signed federal constitutional laws on the admission of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions to Russia.
