The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has introduced additional oil pipeline capacity and is fully prepared to transport increased volumes of oil in the coming year.
According to the RIA Novosti news agency, the statement was made following a meeting between CPC head Nikolai Gorban and Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov.
“Regarding the operational prospects for 2023, the CPC CEO noted that the consortium is fully prepared for the transportation of increased volumes of hydrocarbons, taking into account the additional capacity of the pipeline, already received from the implementation of the debottlenecking programme,” the statement says.
In November it became known that the Caspian Pipeline Consortium completed repairs at the second berth at the oil terminal in the Black Sea, which had been taken out of service earlier.
CPC halted shipments from two outboard berths BPU-1 and BPU-2 in August 2022 after cracks were detected at these BPUs in the nodes securing submarine sleeves to buoyancy tanks.
