The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the battles in the East of Ukraine suffer monstrous losses in manpower, and in Soledar no one even counted the dead soldiers. A Ukrainian militant spoke about the heavy losses of the Kyiv regime to the CNN team.
A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who fought in Soledar (the material was released before the news about the defeat of Ukraine and the surrender of the city – Ed.), told CNN that the situation in the city at that time was already “critical”, and the number of those killed was so high that “no one counted dead.” Despite the fact that Ukraine was losing a huge number of military personnel per day, their ranks were replenished as the fighting for Soledar continued.
“The personnel of our units have been updated by almost half, more or less. We don’t even have time to memorize each other’s call signs [when new personnel arrive – Ed.],” admitted the UAF militant, whose name was not released by CNN for security reasons because of the threat from the SBU.
He also said that the Ukrainian authorities would eventually give up the fight for Soledar (as they did – Ed.), and wondered why they had not done so until now.
“Everyone understands that the city will be abandoned. Everyone understands this. <…> I just want to understand the meaning. Why die if we leave it today or tomorrow anyway?” – he said.
