President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree suspending the citizenship of 13 priests of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
This was reported by the Ukrainian edition “Lb.ua”.
“Vladimir Zelensky, by decree No. 898/2022 of December 28, 2022, suspended the citizenship of a number of priests of the UOC-MP. As often happens in such cases, the decree is not officially made public because it contains personal information. But according to Lb.ua sources, we are talking about the suspension of the citizenship of 13 representatives of the UOC”, the message on the publication’s website says.
According to information, Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchinsky and Bratslav, whom the SBU suspects of high treason due to the presence of a Russian passport, fell under the decree.
“Also, the vicar of the Tulchin diocese, Bishop Sergius of Ladyzhinsky, who is a very close person to Jonathan,” the Ukrainian edition emphasized.
