“Ukrenergo” predicts rapid increase in electricity consumption due to cold weather
Ukraine’s energy company Ukrenergo predicts a rapid increase in electricity consumption in the near future due to a cold spell which the Ukrainian energy system is unable to cover in full.
“As of 11.00am (12.00am Moscow time) on January 6, consumption in Ukraine continues to rise due to a gradual drop in temperature. Consumption limits have been communicated to all regions of Ukraine to ensure a balance in the energy system. Exceeding the limits leads to the application of emergency restrictions,” Ukrenergo said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
