Pushilin says Minsk agreement guarantor countries have openly signed up to lies

Pushylin said that the countries which are guarantors of the Minsk agreements have openly signed their names to a lie

The countries that acted as the main guarantors of the Minsk agreements have openly signed themselves up to a lie, saying that the negotiation process had enabled Ukraine to rearm and prepare for a conflict with Russia, the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, has said.

“Everything was predetermined. If only Merkel stated that she did not want to implement (the agreements. – RT), she was deliberately stalling, she was strengthening Ukraine, accordingly, she was lying at the highest level, no matter what. And now we saw the story that even today Hollande literally backed her. In fact they are the main guarantors of these Minsk agreements. And now they have signed off on it,” Pushilin said.

According to him, such statements have dispelled people’s doubts about the correctness of the decision to launch a special operation.

On 7 December, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel called the Minsk agreements an attempt to give Ukraine time to “become stronger”.

She noted that today’s Ukraine militarily “is not what it was in 2014-2015”.

Former French President Francois Hollande later said that the Minsk agreements allowed the Ukrainian army to become stronger and “stopped Russia’s offensive for a while”.

UN Secretary-General’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric did not comment on statements by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former French President Francois Hollande about the Minsk agreements.
