The Belarusian authorities will confiscate foreign property in response to hostile actions of other countries

The Belarusian authorities will seize foreign property in response to hostile acts of other countries. The corresponding law regulating this norm was published on Friday, January 6, on the National Legal Internet Portal of the country.

The document specifies that the reason for such actions “is the commission of unfriendly acts against the Republic of Belarus, its legal and/or natural persons.

The decision is taken by the Council of Ministers of the country, after which the State Property Committee applies to the economic court in Minsk to seize the objects of property rights.

The law is meant to ensure national security, economic stability and protection of the interests of society and the state. It will enter into force ten days after its official publication.
