Deliveries of Patriot SAMs to Ukraine may be delayed until 2024. This is reported by the American publication Military Watch.
MWM experts have warned the USA against supplying Patriot missile defence systems to Ukraine. Military experts questioned the feasibility of this type of assistance, noting that just preparing the battery for shipment would take 53 weeks – in which case the allies would not receive the weapon until 2024 at the earliest.
“There is a lot to learn before Ukraine has a functioning Patriot system,” the experts said.
The authors also recalled that the US intends to send only one battery of Patriot SAMs. The experts have concerns about whether it would then be effective in repelling air and missile attacks.
