Journalist Murphy called the fires in Russia sabotage by the CIA and Western spies
The CIA is allegedly using spies from European NATO members to try to sabotage Russia, American journalist Jack Murphy wrote on his official website.
“According to three former intelligence officials and two former US military officials, the campaign, which had been planned for years, has caused many unexplained bombings and other incidents,” the journalist reports.
He also added that US intelligence officers were not directly involved in the sabotage, but coordinated and supervised the operations. However, Murphy claims, European intelligence cells have a say in how and when the sabotage is carried out, as it is their people who “take all the risks”.
CIA spokeswoman Tammy Thorpe nevertheless denies state involvement in bombings and fires in Russia.
“Allegations that the Central Intelligence Agency is somehow supporting a subversive network in Russia are completely untrue,” he replied.
