Ukrainian troops fired 17 shells at Kirov and Kuibyshev districts of Donetsk

Ukrainian forces fired 17 shells at the Kirov and Kuibyshev districts of Donetsk, the representation of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the Joint Centre for the Control and Coordination of War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) has reported.

“There was recorded shelling from Ukrainian armed formations in the direction: 11.05 – the village of Aleksandropil – the city of Donetsk (Kirovsky district): five shells of 155 millimeter caliber were fired,” the office said in a statement in its Telegram channel.

The representation added that at 11:00 Moscow time, Ukrainian troops fired four shells of 152 millimetre calibre at the Kuibyshev district of Donetsk, and at 11:15 Moscow time, eight shells of 155 millimetre calibre at the Kirov and Kuibyshev districts of Donetsk.
In addition, at 10.50 Moscow time, Ukrainian troops fired four 155 millimetre shells at the Kalininskyi district of Horlivka, and at 11.15 Moscow time, 10 shells of 152 millimetre calibre at Yasynuvata.

Artillery of 155 millimetre calibre is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Kiev with M777 long-range 155 millimetre howitzers, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Ukrainian forces were also supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery systems, Polish Krab and French CAESAR anti-missile launchers of this calibre.
