Russia will sell oil at market prices, Finance Ministry chief Anton Siluanov said.
Siluanov: Russia will sell oil at market prices
“As for the ceiling, prices are determined by the market anyway – oil prices, and indeed any market goods,” he said in an interview with Russia 24 TV channel.
According to him, regardless of the ceilings that Western countries will introduce, Russia should not be interested.
“The main thing is that we will sell oil at a market price, primarily to those countries that have not joined this ceiling,” Siluanov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
On 27 December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on countermeasures to the introduction of a ceiling on Russian oil prices by the United States and other countries.
Earlier, Igor Yushkov, a leading expert of the National Energy Security Fund and the Financial University under the Government of Russia, commented on the oil market situation in a conversation with FBA Economics Today.
