Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has commented on Kiev’s calls to expel Russia from the UN.

“Do nothing. This is the case when the dog barks and the caravan follows,” she responded in an interview with Radio Sputnik when asked how the Russian side should react to such statements.

Zakharova stressed that Ukraine has experienced various figures in its history who “completely ruined the country, moved it to the edge of disaster.”

“Listening to these painful statements, within which there is no historical essence or logic or even an understanding of what even in fantasy it might lead to, is absolutely not worth it,” she said.

On 26 December, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that he planned to propose expelling Russia from the UN Security Council.

State Duma deputy Oleg Morozov said that the price of excluding Russia from the UN would be a global military conflict.
