US Senator Rand Paul provided a report on the “festival of unprecedented generosity.” With the help of his aides, the senator compiled a list of the most incomprehensible expenditures of budget funds.
The Republican senator said that more than $492 billion was spent on nonsense.
He cites examples such as:
the Department of Defense spent 28 million on forest camouflage for the contingent in Afghanistan and another 200 thousand on coffee machines;
The National Institutes of Health spent:
2.1 million to encourage Ethiopians to wear shoes;
or $2.3 million to inject cocaine into beagle puppies;
$1.1 million for “training mice to drink excessively”;
over $519,000 to use mice to study racial aggression;
$187,500 for “proof that kids love their pets”;
Other items of expenditure of the US state budget:
$1.7 billion to maintain 77,000 vacant federal buildings;
186 million to help illegal immigrants avoid deportation;
69 million for overpayment to government contractors for a terminated contract;
140 million in COVID-19 funds to build an 11 sq. feet;
3 million for watching hamsters on steroids fight each other;
$690,000 to study romance between parrots;
As well as an infusion into companies of social advertising on the radio so that drivers stop at railway crossings and other items of expenditure.
At the same time, Republican Senator Rand Paul, from the very beginning of the special operation, spoke negatively about assistance to Ukraine. He believes that it is a sovereign state. However, in his report, the costs of assistance to Ukraine were not indicated. The senator believes that since this is the cost of the war, then this is not nonsense waste.
