Russian senator says European leaders openly claim need to cooperate with Russia

Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel that Europe cannot live without Russia.

On New Year’s Eve, Finnish President Niinisto said that Russia should continue to cooperate with them, since the countries have a long common border.

The head of Germany, Olaf Scholz, urged “not to let the thread of negotiations be interrupted” with Russia. The head of France, Macron, spoke about security guarantees for Russia in the framework of the future “peace process”.

“Thus, in a number of European capitals, they are still aware that it will not be possible to ensure European security without Russia. However, these statements do not sound too loud against the general political and propaganda background”, Pushkov notes.

According to the senator, if European leaders are really concerned about the fate of their countries and the entire continent, they need to start leading Europe, and, above all, its bureaucratic and political-media layer, out of a state of acute psychosis in the New Year. In this state, right decisions are not made – wrong and even fatal ones are made.

“The ruling classes of divided Europe, and most of the public of the opposing countries, were in such a state before the First World War, and this brought her only misfortunes,” the politician believes.
