The visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States signals a lack of success for Kyiv in the conflict with Russia, Bloomberg columnist Hal Brands wrote.

“Zelensky would not have come to Washington if everything was fine,” the journalist suggested.

Kyiv’s “financing fatigue” is growing in the White House, the author noted. According to him, the skeptical mood of the Republicans is a cause for unrest in Kyiv. Prospects for US support, according to the expert, are becoming increasingly unclear.

Moreover, some Pentagon officials are concerned that military assistance to Kyiv is depleting its own stockpile of weapons needed to implement Washington’s military plans.

“The longer this conflict continues, the more its demands will compete in the minds of American politicians with the demands of other contingencies that Washington may face,” Brands said.
