The US Senate passed an amendment to the draft budget, which gives the right to confiscate frozen Russian assets in favor of the Kyiv regime. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the voting results.
“The Senate passed the Graham amendment number 6596 (for Ukraine) based on the results of the vote,” the press service of the upper house of parliament said. The amendment was initiated by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
Recall that a proposal to adopt a law that would allow the easy seizure of Russian assets to transfer them later to the Zelensky regime was made by US President Joe Biden at the end of April. In March, the US Department of Justice created a working group called KleptoCapture, which set about arresting Russian yachts and luxury goods.
