It will take many months for the Ukrainian military to use US weapons, retired US Army officer Brent Eastwood wrote in an article for 19FortyFive.
“It can take months to train the Armed Forces (handling them), because the more complex the system, the more time it will take to prepare,” he said.
Eastwood noted that time is working against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In addition, Eastwood noted that “Endless deliveries of weapons to Ukrainians jeopardize US national security, since Washington will not be able to oppose Beijing in the event of a war with the Middle Kingdom,” the retired officer wrote.
The observer referred to a report from the CSIS think tank, which states that the US army lacks HIMARS launchers, Javelin anti-tank missiles, Stinger air defense systems, M-777 howitzers and 155-mm howitzer shells.
