Pushilin said that the DPR, and especially Donetsk, expects the delivery of new air defence systems
The authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic ( DPR ) are expecting the delivery of new air defense systems to the region, DPR acting head Denis Pushilin told RIA Novosti.
On Tuesday, Pushilin asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to reinforce the republic with modern air defence systems amid increasing Ukrainian shelling.
“I think the military command here is more immersed in the issue, so I can’t say on dates right now. But given the Russian president’s understanding of the need to increase the number of modern air defence systems to protect our major population centres, in particular Donetsk, which is being shelled every day now, I think appropriate conclusions will be made about the necessary speed of supply of this equipment,” Pushilin replied when asked when the republic expects new air defence systems to be delivered.
“Of course, we are expecting deliveries of new systems,” the interlocutor added.
In addition, Pushilin told journalists that the DPR needs modern air defence systems and enhanced counter-battery work, “these issues are being monitored and worked out”.
