Shoigu: Kupol spacecraft will help control missile-hazardous areas in Northern Hemisphere

Russia’s sixth Kupol satellite will be launched in 2022, making it possible to continuously monitor missile-hazardous areas in the Northern Hemisphere, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

The Unified Space System has been further developed in the Russian Air and Space Forces, Shoigu said, speaking at an expanded collegium of the military department on Wednesday.

“The sixth Kupol spacecraft has been launched, enabling continuous control of missile-hazardous areas in the Northern Hemisphere,” the minister said.
