The Washington Post says there is no convincing evidence implicating Russia in explosions at North Streams, despite unsubstantiated accusations by Western politicians. In particular, the newspaper points out that officials from nine EU countries who spoke to journalists agree.
Moreover, the newspaper points out that the explosions were a deliberate act of terrorism, while Germany believes the explosives were placed outside the pipeline. US intelligence, according to the newspaper, has also received no evidence of Russian involvement. The pipelines, it is recalled, were blown up at the end of September. Video footage that has since emerged shows that the turbines were only a mangled pile of metal, but the countries investigating refuse to name the suspects.
