The Russian company Rostech plans to start serial production of the S-70 Okhotnik heavy attack drone in the next one or two years. This was announced in an interview with Rossiya 24 by the first deputy general director of the company, Vladimir Artyakov.
“The concept itself is unique. Neither the Americans, nor NATO, nor any of the countries have such an apparatus. [Next year – Ed.] We will conduct the first tests, mass production – I think we will leave in a year or two”, he said in response to a question about the stage of work on the machine (quoted by TASS).
The Sukhoi company, which is part of the United Aircraft Corporation (under the control of Rostec), was developing the S-70 Okhotnik unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The device is made according to the “flying wing” scheme using “stealth” technology, which reduces its visibility for radar detection. The takeoff weight of the Okhotnik is up to 20 tons, the maximum flight speed is about 1,000 km/h, according to open sources.
