A refugee from Ukraine lived in Trowbridge with her children for six months. She says that even after half a year of living in the UK, she could not find decent housing for herself.

“For us, benefactors found and rented a one-room apartment in Trowbridge. The house turned out to be old, and there were gaps in the windows and doors, it was constantly cold in the apartment, and the electricity bill was 300 pounds (approximately 24 thousand rubles),” Natalya Taranenko reports to the publication.

Due to the high humidity, mold appeared in the apartment, as a result of which her children developed a cough and the woman hastily needed to look for a new home. A resident from Ukraine failed to find a new place of residence. She could not even get a job, which is why she and her children had to go home.

The refugee noted that she hopes to return to England with her children until Ukraine becomes a safe country.

“I really hope that in the New Year we will find a benefactor with a kind heart who will treat our situation with understanding,” Taranenko said.
