Bulgaria urged not to transfer weapons to Ukraine

The Bulgarian Socialist Party has called on the president to veto the decision to provide military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by the news agency Focus.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party has called on Bulgarian President Rumen Radev to veto the decision to provide weapons to Ukraine.

Earlier, the Bulgarian National Assembly ratified an agreement between the defence ministries of Bulgaria and Ukraine to provide Kiev with military aid.

“The parliamentary group BSP for Bulgaria called on President Rumen Radev to veto the law on the ratification of the agreement on providing weapons to Ukraine,” the publication said.

It is specified that in the letter to Radev the party cites constitutional, legal, moral and political reasons for vetoing it. It also refers to statements by Radev himself, who had previously publicly opposed involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
