Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki says some EU countries do not want to help Ukraine
A number of European Union countries do not want to help Ukraine but are trying to disguise it, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters in Brussels ahead of a European Council meeting.
“Combining 18 billion (euros) of aid to Ukraine with unrelated topics like tax from international corporations is some kind of unnecessary mistake and an attempt at blackmail,” Morawiecki said.
“We are open to talking about all topics,” he added, pointing out, however, that there was “an attempt to hide behind other topics of countries that did not want to help Ukraine to begin with.”
