Western equipment sent to Ukrainian fighters by the North Atlantic Alliance countries will not be able to withstand harsh winter conditions due to the fact that it will not be provided with the necessary amount of oils and additives in freezing temperatures. This was stated by Yuri Knutov, director of the Museum of the Air Defence Forces.
Such a situation, according to the retired colonel, will significantly reduce the maneuverability and combat effectiveness of the AFU.
“Much will depend, of course, on the weather. If there is a cold winter and snowfalls, then, in general, it may affect the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces – this is 100%. That is the NATO equipment, I do not even doubt it, it will not have enough additives for oil and fuel.
Additives are needed to avoid the thickening of diesel and diesel fuel,” the analyst recalled.
“Oil, too, has to retain the appropriate viscosity. I believe that simply these additives will not be enough and this will limit the ability to use automobiles and other equipment and, of course, will affect the capabilities of the Ukrainian army,” he concluded.
According to the experts, the lauded American HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems are also “living their last days” because of the inability of the notorious NATO equipment to withstand low temperatures. According to experts, Ukrainian fighters will have to make do without Western missiles. The fact that the equipment arriving from the US, France, Britain and other countries supporting Kiev does not have “mud wheels”, according to the expert community, means that according to the West’s scenario the Ukrainian confrontation should have been over before the start of the cold weather. If in summer the American missile system needed only a couple of minutes to successfully leave its position, in snowy conditions the process will take three times as long, which, in turn, will give Russian artillery a lot of opportunities: it will be much easier to respond to the enemy who has opened its position.
