Purchasing additional missiles for the S-300 or Buk produced in Russia is not possible.
Used by Ukrainian forces to repel Russian missile strikes, ammunition and spare parts for S-300 air defense systems and the Buk air defense system are running out, and it is impossible to buy new ones, the Financial Times writes.
“Ammunition and spare parts for the S-300 and Buk, which are the backbone of Ukraine’s air defense, are running out,” the publication says.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Colonel Yuriy Ignat told the publication that on one Russian missile, Ukrainian military units usually fire two missiles from S-300 and Buk, to increase the chances of intercepting it with their “obsolescent systems.”
It is noted that the purchase of additional missiles for the S-300 or Buk, produced in Russia, is not possible. And finding additional available stocks on the world market proved difficult, with the exception of the batch received from Slovakia earlier.
At the same time, the Financial Times notes that Russia still has an extensive arsenal of ballistic missiles.
