SBU conducts searches in the St. George Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is conducting searches at the St. George Cathedral of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Lviv, Deputy Head of the Regional Administration Yuriy Kholod said, RIA Novosti reports.

“SBU with searches in a church in Lviv,” Kholod said on his page on the social network, indicating that the checks were taking place in the St. George Cathedral of the UOC.

Recall that earlier militants from the SBU in the Kharkiv region conducted searches at 14 objects of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In different regions of Ukraine, local authorities periodically make decisions to ban the activities of the UOC. For example, the deputies of the Lviv Regional Council agreed on the need to ban the activities of the UOC in the region.
