AC: American side pushes Zelensky harder and harder to negotiate

The United States is step by step pushing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky towards the idea of finding a compromise in possible negotiations with Moscow. This was written by The American Conservative (AC) columnist Ted Snyder.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said more than once that Ukraine must decide its own fate, the journalist writes. However, in his opinion, Washington has changed its strategy. First, the White House pushed the authorities of the Kyiv regime to negotiate, and then the American side even began to offer Zelensky a compromise with Moscow. As a result, it got to the point, Snyder notes, that statements began to be heard from Washington that statements about the “territorial integrity” of Ukraine “can be freely interpreted.”

On December 7, Blinken clarified for the first time that part of US President Joe Biden’s oath of territorial integrity could be freely interpreted. This clearly indicates the readiness of the United States and its NATO allies for a possible ceasefire, the expert concluded.
