Ukraine needs electricity supplies from Europe at least until the end of the heating season, the volume is up to two gigawatts, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

“At least until the end of this heating season, we need emergency support from the European energy system, that is, the supply of electricity from the EU countries to Ukraine, the volume is up to 2 gigawatts. To make this possible, the decision of the Euroset of operators of transmission systems of electricity to increase import capacities is needed. Such support could be worth about 800 million euros at current prices,” Zelensky said during his video address at a conference on aid to Ukraine in Paris.

Earlier, Ukrenergo reported that the shortage of electricity in Ukraine remains significant.
