The withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine is out of the question until the end of the year, said on Tuesday, December 13, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. At the same time, he stressed that in order to achieve peace, it is necessary to take into account the new realities regarding the entry of new regions into Russia.

“This is out of the question,” a Kremlin spokesman said, answering a question about whether the Russian Federation is considering the possibility of starting the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine before the end of 2022.

“The Ukrainian side needs to take into account the realities that have developed over all this time,” Peskov said.

“These realities indicate that the Russian Federation has new subjects, they appeared as a result of referendums that took place in these territories,” the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.

He is sure that “without taking into account these new realities, any progress (on settlement) is impossible.”
