Russian flag burned during mass march in Helsinki

Foreign Ministry: Russian flag burnt in Finland, this is an unacceptable act of outrage

A Russian flag was burned during a mass march in the Finnish capital Helsinki, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It is specified that the incident took place during the celebration of the republic’s Independence Day on December 6.

“In this regard, a diplomatic demarche was undertaken with regard to the Finnish side through the Russian Foreign Ministry, during which it was stated that such actions are considered in Moscow as an unprecedented unacceptable act of desecration of the state symbol of our country,” the ministry noted.
Helsinki has sent a demand to bring the perpetrators to justice. Furthermore, Moscow urged the Finnish authorities to take measures to prevent similar extremist acts in the future.
