German residents urged to save money on heating – Deutschlandfunk

Network agency director Klaus Müller has asked citizens not to turn on all heaters, even though the temperatures are low. He said this on the German radio station Deutschlandfunk.

The head of the network agency is not tired of asking German citizens not to turn on the heat in all rooms.

He argues that they cannot act lightly now. Heating all the rooms of German residents costs a lot of gas, which may not be enough for the needs of industry by the end of winter.

“It is still necessary to reduce gas consumption by 20% in all sectors,” says the director of the network agency.

Müller says that at the moment Germany’s gas storage facilities are 95% full. The company’s operators are reassuring that the country’s citizens will be able to survive this winter, provided that the extremely low temperatures do not cause any billing malfunctions.

Germany will be able to survive this winter, the agency says, if citizens save on their gas consumption.
