Bloomberg: strikes on Russian territory caused disagreements between the US and Ukraine

Recent attacks by Ukrainian kamikaze drones on Russian air bases are fraught with a new increase in tensions between Kyiv and Washington, according to American historian and Bloomberg columnist Hal Brands.

The author notes that throughout the conflict, Zelensky carefully probes the limits of the patience of Biden and the White House, as the United States strives with all its might to avoid a full-scale war with Russia. For America, this would be a disaster, while for Ukraine it would be a salvation.

“Washington, through the mouth of Biden, made it clear that preventing a military clash with Russia is no less important to him than helping Ukraine,” the article says (quoted from INOSMI).

Publicly, these differences are hard to hide, and it seems that Kyiv and Washington are moving towards the same goal together. However, in fact, the Ukrainian conflict has clearly shown that “serious disagreements lurk even in the most fruitful and partnership relations,” the author concludes.
