U.S. cuts off bough by imposing oil price ceiling, Ryabkov says

Ryabkov said the United States is chopping off the branch on which it is sitting by imposing a ceiling on oil prices

The United States and the West in general, introducing a ceiling on Russian oil prices, are chopping off the bough they are sitting on, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Tuesday.

“The U.S., by resorting to such techniques and pulling its own allies in Europe under its decisions, is, by and large, cutting the bough they are sitting on,” Ryabkov told reporters on the sidelines of the State Duma.
