European Union countries have not reached an agreement on the allocation of a new €18bn financial aid package to Kiev for 2023.
Hungary against it: Ukraine will not receive a new package from the EU in 2023
This has been announced by the Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic holding the Presidency of the EU Council, Zbyněk Stanyura.
“Unfortunately, we were not able to accept the whole package,” he said at a meeting in Brussels.
Hungarian Finance Minister Mihály Varga has reportedly opposed the European Council’s legislative amendments for Ukraine to receive financial aid next year.
“Hungary is against the amendment of the financial legislation,” Varga said at a meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council in Brussels on Tuesday.
