Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are disappointed in the 1966 mortars handed over by Italy, the Corriere della Serra newspaper writes.

According to Ukrainian soldiers, the mortar optics were made almost immediately after the end of the Great Patriotic War.

“These are outdated models that were made in 1966, and the optics and guidance systems date back to 1947. They are much worse than their Soviet counterparts during World War II,” the soldiers said.

At the same time, according to the fighters, the guns were handed over even without ammunition. Therefore, the artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to use American and Polish mines for firing from these mortars, thus reducing the accuracy of fire and the speed of its conduct.
