Attempts to regulate prices due to political motives always lead to the disappearance of a product or an increase in prices for it, Medvedev said.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on the entry into force of the ban on the supply of Russian oil to the EU countries.
“Today, the decision of Western countries to ban the supply of Russian oil at a price above $60 per barrel came into force. These actions of our “friends” remind me of a crowd of burghers who have been on a spree, who, having eaten schnapps with sausages and beer, climb into the icy water for the first time. Like we want to cool down”, the politician wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to Medvedev, some of them will quickly sober up and jump out after that, others will learn to swim “very badly”, and still others will drown, falling “in an unequal battle with the Russian bear and General Moroz.”
The politician is convinced that attempts to regulate prices due to political motives always lead to the disappearance of a product or an increase in prices for it. He believes that there will be a similar situation with oil, although it is impossible to accurately predict it.
The deputy chairman of the Security Council warned that the ban would definitely not bring anything good for European consumers.
“Let them stock up on schnapps, wadded blankets and boilers. Still ahead, winter has just begun,” Medvedev summed up.
