Western governments can end the conflict in Ukraine by providing security guarantees to Russia, writes the American edition 19FortyFive.
The author of the publication, Jack Bakby, referred to a statement by French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he suggested that the US and the EU take into account Russia’s concerns when developing a new security system in Europe.
“The confrontation in Ukraine could end if NATO leaders take his proposal seriously,” the observer wrote.
According to the author of the publication, one of the main provisions of the future security architecture may be the refusal of Sweden and Finland to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
“The refusal of Helsinki and Stockholm from plans to join NATO could be the beginning of a Ukrainian settlement,” the author emphasized.
The day before, Macron said that the future security architecture of Europe after the restoration of peace in Ukraine should include security guarantees for Russia.
