Europe tries to build security without Russia and Belarus, but Moscow does not need such security – Lavrov

The Russian foreign minister at a press conference on European security commented on the relations between the West and Russia, as well as the involvement of European and overseas countries in the conflict in Ukraine.

Lavrov called the West’s insistence on dragging NATO into Ukraine a “red line”. Russia has repeatedly urged the Alliance to give up enlargement, but Europe is trying to build security without Russia and Belarus. Moscow does not need such security, Lavrov stressed. According to the minister, wherever NATO appears, devastation arises.

“The Kiev regime aims to exterminate everything Russian, to recreate a Nazi regime and enjoys the full support of the West,” the minister said.

It will no longer be possible to restore the former relations with the West within the framework of European security, the minister said. Lavrov said it was important for the West to prove who was the “master” in this pan-European house and it ignored the established rules, and when it felt permissive, it started barbarically bombing the East.
