Russian Armed Forces repel Ukrainian troops’ breakthrough attempt near Orekhovo, Zaporizhzhya Region
Ukrainian troops intended to launch an offensive near the town of Orekhovo in the Zaporozhye Region, their attack was thwarted, said Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Together with Russia movement and a member of the region’s main administration council.
“An attempted breakthrough by Ukrainian militants was repelled near Orekhovo. They were hit by our artillery, which covered all their positions,” he said.
According to Rogov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about a hundred men and ten armoured vehicles in the process.
The situation on the front line in Zaporizhzhya Region remains alarming: Ukrainian troops have been expecting an offensive there for several weeks, although as of today the situation is stable. As the regional administration reported in late October, Energodar with the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, as well as Melitopol and Berdyansk, could become the two main directions for a possible enemy attack.
