Acting DPR head Pushylin says units sweep Kurdyumivka
The DPR is mopping up the Kurdyumovka settlement, the republic’s acting head Denis Pushilin said on air of Channel One.
“There are successes in the area of Artemovsk, there are already liberated settlements: Pershe Travnya, Andreevka. Kurdyumovka is being cleared,” he said.
For his part, Gorlovka Mayor Ivan Prikhodko said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel that “since this morning Kurdyumovka has been taken, the fighting for which lasted more than five days”.
“This is one of those settlements from where Gorlovka was shelled very heavily. Secondly, it is full control of the Gorlovka-Artemivsk highway. This is a strategically important place,” he added.
According to Ukrainian media reports, taking control over Kurdyumivka will also allow Russian artillery to hit the Ukrainian armed forces’ positions in Chasovy Yar and Kostyantynivka.
